I'm sure anyone reading this already knows, but Reggie passed away. So very sad. He was only 7 years old and made the biggest impression on me that any animal ever has. He was my little baby & I loved him very much. The vet did an autopsy since it was so sudden and the results were shocking. He had very advanced liver cancer that had also spread throughout his body, including his lungs. She said he'd had it for a long time & really there was no way to know. He wasn't in pain & passed away in his sleep. She said the tumor in the liver started bleeding while he was sleeping which caused him to pass away. He was in his usual spot on the floor towards the end of the bed and felt nothing. He got to snuggle in bed with me for 4 hours beforehand with his collar off and a neck scrathing fit for a king. Before he jumped to the floor to sleep I gave him the usual kiss on the head, a "goodnight buddy, I love you" that I give him every night. I'm so happy I spent those last few hours with him snuggling and kissing on him like I did. I had no idea it would be the last time, but I know he was happy and loved me just as much as I loved him. His last week he had, he got 2 jumbones and 6 new tennis balls. He had the best last week ever. Ok who's kidding who here, this was a regular thing for Reggie...I don't have 115 toys in my house because he wasn't spoiled. But I know he had a good life, was spoiled rotten, loved everyone, and everyone loved him. No one could resist the Reggie dog :)
